With the boosted power of Xbox Series X, players are reporting that the framerate of Skyrim is hitting a consistent 60fps on Microsoft’s next-gen machine. In fact, the mod recommends that players download “other performance mods like Disable God rays, FPS Boost, Insignificant Object Remover” to get a more solid framerate. However, with the slower CPU of the Xbox One family of consoles, it wasn’t guaranteed that players would get 60fps at all. Originally created for the Xbox One version of Skyrim, this mod does exactly what it says on the tin: players will be able to play with the framerate cap doubled from 30fps to 60fps. Posted on the XboxSeriesX subreddit, the Uncap FPS Mod is available to download from the Skyrim add-ons section of the Xbox One game, or through the Bethesda website here.
The Skyrim 60fps mod is just a colloquial name for the add-on.
However, thanks to a Skyrim 60fps mod and the power of Xbox Series X, console players can now experience a more fluid Dragonborn adventure. The Elder Scrolls V’s Xbox One and PlayStation 4 remaster may have spruced up the beloved RPG’s visuals, but the re-release didn’t update the game’s 30fps framerate target for consoles.
